Convert a PowerPoint presentation (.pptx) to PDF: every slide a page, with text, shapes, images and tables in place. Notes and hidden slides are left out, just as in PowerPoint.
Good to know
Each slide becomes a page in the format of the presentation (16:9, 4:3 or a custom size). Text with its font, size, colour and formatting, bullets and numbering, shapes with their fill, outline and arrowheads, images (also cropped, and EMF drawings as vectors), tables, SmartArt, groups and the slide background. Text stays real text: you can select and search it, and links stay clickable. Speaker notes and hidden slides are left out, just as when saving as PDF in PowerPoint; you can tick a box to include hidden slides.
This tool cannot draw charts, embedded objects (such as an Excel sheet) or ink. In their place the PDF shows a grey box saying 'not shown', and after converting the tool tells you per slide what is missing; if you turn off the marking, that spot stays empty. Images in the old WMF format of Windows are not drawn either. Of a video only the first frame is included, and animations do not exist in a PDF: everything on the slide appears at once. Shadows, glow and 3D effects are not drawn.
Calibri, Arial, Times New Roman and Courier New get a font with exactly the same metrics, and a font that the presentation brings along itself (embedded when saving) is used as it is; there the text falls just as in PowerPoint. For other fonts, such as Aptos, Century Gothic or a brand font, the tool uses a similar font; if the font is installed on your computer, the tool measures it so that the lines break in the same place. Otherwise a line may break one word earlier or later. The tool tells you which fonts were replaced. The file never leaves your computer.
