Convert a Word file (.docx, or an old .doc) to PDF. Headings, lists, tables and images stay in place.
Good to know
Text with its formatting (headings, bold, italic, colour and alignment), bulleted and numbered lists, tables with borders and merged cells, and images. Page size, orientation and margins come from your document. You can include headers and footers; page numbers become real numbers. Footnotes appear at the bottom of the page with their reference, endnotes after the text.
Text boxes, shapes and charts, columns, and comments. Tracked changes appear in the PDF as if they had been accepted, and the page numbers in a table of contents come from your document. After converting, the tool tells you below the button what is in your document and is not in the PDF, or looks different from Word. If you need those parts, export from Word itself.
A PDF uses standard fonts instead of the fonts on your computer. A line may therefore break one word earlier or later, and a long text can move up or down a little. The order of the text stays the same; what does not come along is listed in the note below the button.
