Open SLDPRT files — free, in your browser

SLDPRT is the part file of SolidWorks, the CAD software for mechanical engineering and product design. SolidWorks saves an assembly as .sldasm and a drawing as .slddrw. Without SolidWorks or eDrawings it usually does not open.

With the free downloadlink viewer you open a .sldprt file directly in your browser. Nothing is installed, and without an account nothing is uploaded either — when you are logged in, the viewer keeps your file in My files.

What the viewer does with SLDPRT files

The viewer converts the part to STEP in your browser with cadmpeg, an open reader for CAD formats, and shows it in 3D: you rotate, zoom, measure with snapping and make a section. The file is not sent anywhere for this.

Good to know

You see the shape via an open reader, so there may be differences; you do not see the design history, dimensions and materials. For an assembly (.sldasm) or a drawing (.slddrw) the viewer only shows the preview image that SolidWorks stores in the file. If it does not work, export as STEP.

How it works

  1. Click Open your SLDPRT file above.
  2. Drag your .sldprt file into the window, or click to choose it.
  3. View it directly in your browser.
