Open a file
Open LAS files (also .laz) — free, in your browser
LAS is the standard format for point clouds from laser scanning (lidar), from drones, aircraft and tripod scanners; LAZ is the same point cloud compressed without loss. The Dutch national elevation model (AHN), for example, is distributed as LAZ.
With the free downloadlink viewer you open a .las / .laz file directly in your browser. Nothing is installed, and without an account nothing is uploaded either — when you are logged in, the viewer keeps your file in My files.

What the viewer does with LAS files
The viewer reads the points in your browser and colours them by the scan colour, by intensity or by height. You rotate, zoom and measure the distance between two points.
Good to know
For a very large point cloud the viewer shows an even selection of the points and says how many; editing or filtering classifications is not possible.
