Open OBJ files — free, in your browser

OBJ (Wavefront) is an old and widely supported exchange format between 3D programs such as Blender, Maya and 3ds Max. It is plain text with vertices and faces; materials and textures are usually in a separate .mtl file next to it.

With the free downloadlink viewer you open a .obj file directly in your browser. Nothing is installed, and without an account nothing is uploaded either — when you are logged in, the viewer keeps your file in My files.

What the viewer does with OBJ files

You rotate, zoom and pan the model, hide parts, measure distances with snapping to corners and edges, and make a section.

Good to know

You open one .obj file: a separate .mtl file with materials and textures is not loaded, so you see the shape without that styling.

How it works

  1. Click Open your OBJ file above.
  2. Drag your .obj file into the window, or click to choose it.
  3. View it directly in your browser.
